Lex Luthor : He Is Not

Recently, saw Batman Vs Superman, Dawn of Justice. And without getting into the movie itself and NO SPOILERS, The guy who plays Lex Luthor was so miss cast, it wasn't even funny. But not only was he the wrong actor for the job, he is written wrong. UNLESS, they were going for a quirky, goofy, tame version of the Joker, then they have nailed it. Good job. Sinister, brooding, cold and calculating, he was not.

In the end, there were two people that were fighting for the role and Carrot Top had to drop out due to a plastic surgery appointment, leaving Jessie Eisenburg winner by default. Which doesn't make sense, cause they did a pretty good job casting everyone else, but apparently fell on their face when casting Lex. The only thing I can think of is that someone was being black mailed.

In interviews, the director himself defends his Lex, telling people to wait to see what he brings to the table and fans will be pleased. Well after seeing the movie, "What the hell are you talking about"....Lex is a big corney goofball who comes across has a spoiled abused brat of a billionaires son.

So I guess it wouldn't have matter who they cast for the role, if they still had planned on making him the corney goofball type character. At least if you are going to get someone who has the stature of Lex, just look at some of the potential quick google searches. See, was that hard...But...again. Even if they had any of these guys...you can't play Lex the way you did in this movie. Its like if they introduced Joker, and he was sane.

But if you are going to have a Lex who is goofy, quirky, oddball type character. Than here are some Lex's that fit the THAT specific role a more closer to the T.

Fun Fun Movie Trailers

What is coming out in the next little while that I'm looking forward too? Alot of stuff, it may not all be Oscar winning stuff. But lets see how they are.

Batman Vs Superman, as much as most people I talk to complain that this is going to bomb. I'm looking forward to this. DC was not my favorite Comic growing up, but it is still neat to see them on the screen. I have no doubts that this will be enjoyable.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows,I'm actually looking forward too. It looks like a episode of the cartoon was brought to life. Bright colors, goofy, nonsensical. Granted, I hated the last one, partly because Megan Fox. She always looks like she is ready to say something, but never does. Plot holes the size of the death star and filled with Michael Bayims. But so far, I'm willing to give this one a chance.

X-men:Apocalypse, I think this one is the one I am least looking forward too. It just feels bland, and I'm kind of tired of the costumes that just look like black Ops. (For the X-men anyway) Will I enjoy it as much as Days of Future pass? I hope at least I will like it just as much.

Ghostbusters, OH YEAH!!.. Love this franchise. I am totally cool that its a reboot, fine that its all women. I'm looking forward to see this come back. But!..oh wow, the hate online for this movie is downright phenomenal. It feels that people today, just love to hate things. I can't even listen to some of my own friends anymore, cause EVERYTHING save for a select few of movies is worst thing ever. I'm looking forward to this one!! Fingers crossed!

And Finally, Captain America: Civil War. And I gotta say, I rank this up on my excited level with Batman Vs Superman. I hope good things and I'm sure I will enjoy it.

There are more movies, but this list will do for now :)

Dicemasters - Colossus Review

This post is probably not going to appeal to anyone who doesn't play or at least know about Dicemaster, so please..enjoy a cookie sometime day and think of Colossus in dice form. :)

Lets talk about Colossus cards and how effective they are. I'm not going into pairing with other cards cause that is whole other conversation in itself. But on its own, how viable is the card.

Overall, The Colossus cards are really expensive to field, 6 for the common and 7 for all others. One is going to find it hard to get him out in the field. But his stats are well worth it, with a high defense and offense at his highest level. He is well worth the cost, BUT only at his final level.

Which takes us to his first common card, "Unstoppable". With a base cost of 6, the cheapest of the 3. This card best utilizes the fact that you want Colossus at level 3 as soon as possible to take advantage of his high hit and defense. So even if he is fielded at level 1, his ability allows you to spin him up each turn. Getting Colossus to level 3 is the goal here. A good starting card, but again, the high cost I don't know if justifies the waiting to get to level 3 stats.

The next card, Uncommon "Russian Bear". With a higher field cost, well...it better be a good ability. Being sent to the prep area instead of the used pile if he causes damage. I really don't think its worth it. The reason being is that he is really only super effective at his higest level. It is alot of work to get him there. At this point the "Unstoppable" card is a better cost and payoff. I would leave this one out.

Final card, a Rare, "Piotr Rasputin" This is the card you want. Just having him in the battlefield while other characters are active with him will cause 2 damage per character to the opponent. You literally don't have to do anything, attack, ability, nothing. Just sit there and the other guy takes damage.
Even with the high field cost, you want this guy in as fast as you can. So even if he is low level, the ability is fantastic. Clearly the winner of the 3.

If you are going to use Colossus, "Piotr Rasputin" is the way to go. But if you want a good alternative, "Unstoppable" is a good choice as well, just to have some muscle on your team.

80's Cereal

If it lived on the TV or was a game or toy, you could pretty much guarantee that there was a cereal to go along with it. Filled with lots of marshmallow goodness and sugar, lots and LOTS of sugar. Lets just say that some of them would not pass inspection based on todays standards.

I really liked Magic Crunch, each box came with a plastic Disney figure and I had to collect them all. It was your standard Alpha-bit cereal, but sweeter.

Mr T's was a Captain Crunch type of cereal, but came with a sticker. I love stickers.

I didn't even know this cereal existed until I just found it in the google, but comes with 9 essential vitamins and minerals. Just short of 10..that is probably why it didn't last. 10 was the big number.

I kinda remember Superstars, but in regards to how it tasted? yeah I don't recall anything.

And who doesn't remember Smurf Berry Crunch, this one was great. Smurfasty!

Big movie requires big cereal, again just another Captain Crunch rip off, but in the shape of Bats. And who doesn't want to eat bats! Fools, that is who.

These look like rainbow poop, but I don't ever recall seeing these. Rainbow rat poop.

As much as I loved Pacman, I did not like the cereal. Too many marshmallows, I wasn't a marshmallow kid.

Strawberry Shortcake cereal was the bomb for someone who loved strawberry flavored things. This one was great and left your milk all pink like a strawberry milkshake. These were great!

BOOOOOORRRRRriiiiinnnngggg, maybe if it had R2-D2 marshmallows. But I didn't like marshmallows, so I guess I still wouldn't eat em.

Ice cream cones, not based off anything, but these were my some of my favorites. Mainly because I remember eating just as is, No milk, just hands full of sugar goodness.

I don't remember the turtle cereal, but it has marshmallows, so you know..meh. Lots of sugar for everyone.

Dice Masters

About a year ago, I was introduced to a dice game and I don't know what it was about this game, the fact that you have to collect character dice along with their 3 ranks, usually the rarer ranks means the better power, not always, but usually that is how it worked.

This game consumed my spare time at one point, always buying packs of dice and cards, which was pretty cheap at $1.25 for two cards and two dice. But in the end, it was cheaper to buy a complete box set for $100 than keep buying the packs. As you never knew what was in the pack and getting doubles or 9 of the same card (Shakes fist at Falcon) was not uncommon. So trading with friends became the next best way to get new cards.

I never played card games before, like Magic or those types of games. But for some reason, add DICE to them that are also themed to a specific Super Hero character and it's like crack. With each update being a new theme, they always had lots for you to collect. X-men, Avengers, Ultron, Justice League, Green Lantern Corps, Dungeon and Dragons, Yugio, Spiderman. You could mix and match all the sets. Though I generally just stuck to the Heroes.

Until the second to last update, the Green Lantern Corps, where you could get Batman dressed in Yellow Ring power (really :/) , aaaaaaaaannnndddd you lost me. I really didn't care for that update so I didn't purchase any. The time between that update and the next one, Spiderman (which I was looking forward too) I had lost that "Must get new dice" feeling and I didn't even bother with that one.

I'm sure they will continue to release updates with new rules, but I have a nice little collection of cards and dice  that are more then enough for some gamey fun. Had to buy a whole set up to store it all. The game itself is fun and enjoyable, even though I haven't played it in a while. And most games can be completed in 20-30 min. A great pick and play game with alot of depth if you want to go all hardcore.

Ghostbuster Twinkies

I've eaten a Twinkie maybe once, twice in my life time. But as with the last Ghostbuster movie and Saturday morning cartoon shows, there were a ton of Ghostbuster typed food. I don't think I tried any of them. But if you didn't get a chance to eat something green and labeled Ghostbusters, you can get your chance with Slime filled Twinkies, also known as Key Lime filing.

And who could forget Ghostbuster Hi-C juice!!!...Well me, I never drank the stuff. But I remember it, that is something.

Now the cereal I do remember, cause I got one of the glow in the dark cards. Was never big on the marshmellow of any of the sugar cereals, but they were always packaged great.

Platinum Starwars BattleFront Trophy

One of the things I like to do in video games, are try and collect the trophies. Some are fun, some are punishing, some are downright life consuming. I admit that as I get older, I'm pretty picky about what I want to go after when it comes to trophies. They have to be fun, doable and not have to invest hundreds of hours.

So with that I haven't gotten a Plat in a long time, Forever stuck at 38. Battlefront had a nice mix of difficult(challenging) trophies and grinding that I didn't mind doing. Some I did with friends or family. Until I got to very last trophy, the one before the Plat.

"Playing the Objective" That is, come in first with the most kills in a match of Blast. From release, going on 4 months, this trophy was broken/glitched. It didn't register the player coming in first even with most kills.

Luckily with the latest patch, that has all been fixed and after only 2 matches, I came in top spot with 22 kills and viola, my 39th Platinum. :) It was fun, but with nothing left to unlock, and just random playing online with the odd release of new maps and characters every 4 months, I doubt I will be playing this as much as I once did. Always a great drop in anytime kinda game.

Music and Rebel Galaxy

I've started playing Rebel Galaxy on the PS4, which has a hands down, one badass music soundtrack. Honestly, I get a joy out of just listening to it as I fly around and blow shit up. As Katie likes to call this game, "You are basically Firefly". I have to agree, its a badass Firefly...Well Firefly is already badass, but now with more ass. Take a listen to some, it kinda reminds me of the opening sequence of the original Borderlands.

Or Better yet, go here and listen to all of them. Go ahead, and pretend you are a space cowboy!

CareBear Mini Figs

I grew up in the 80's as a kid with Saturday mornings was were I developed my love for all toys related shows. If there was a cartoon about it, then you could rest assured I had a toy for it, well..the boys shows anyway. But there was one that I wish I did have toys from, that was the Carebears. They may have been pointed at girls, or at least the only people I've seen with them back in those days were girls. But boy, did I ever like those things.

I remember grade 4 and a classmate during finals, brought in all these posable (not plush) Carebears to line her desk for good luck. I was so envious of those little things. But back then, I couldn't ask for what was perceived as girls toy. But I'm an adult now and I don't care, I love'em, just the originals though, not all these new ones.

Here is a little glimpse into my latest addition thanks to Ms Katie. :) Starting Left to Right -We have Harmony Bear??..I'm not sure what that one is called really, it came with the set and is part of the new line, so whatever..meh. Then we have Grumpy, Wishbear, Cheerbear and Love-a-Lot. I would have liked if they had different expressions, but they are neat as is. I assume this is the first set of more..I hope.

In The Begginning

In the past I've done blogs about gaming, toys and art. With life and everything, they kinda get lost in the wayside, I've enjoyed these in the past and this is my attempt to start it up again, but this time, it includes everything Geek -n- Awesome. And with help from my little Geekster, Katie. Let the Geek begin. :)
